The cell phone antenna is an essential part of a mobile phone. It is the means by which a signal is sent and received, making communications possible. Without an antenna, a cell phone would be fairly worthless.

A mobile phone always comes with an antenna from the manufacturer. However, depending on your location, the standard antenna inside your phone might not always provide enough signal. To overcome this problem, many companies make aftermarket, exterior mounted antennas.

A popular application for using an external cell phone antenna is road trips. Many companies make antennas that are designed to stick to the roof of your car (magnetic) or attach to the car window. These can be a great way to maintain a solid connection while travelling through remote locations.
