Cell Phone, Covers, and Accessories
The
last twenty years has seen an explosion in the cellular communications
industry. Cell phone technology has taken the heavy, bulky “bricks”
of the 1980’s and reduced them to sleek, lightweight devices that
fit neatly in your pocket. Today’s cell phones are more than just
communication devices; they’re also our day planners, internet
browsers, and entertainment systems.
At cellphoneaccessoriesexpert.com, we love cell phones and all the
possibilities they hold. Cellular technology is becoming more and more
advanced, giving the cell phone more and more capabilities. As cell
phones advance, so do the possible accessories.
The list of cell phone accessories has grown exponentially since the
days of the first mobile phones. These early devices had virtually nothing
available for them, except for maybe a cell phone charger and/or a DC
adaptor for using a car’s cigarette lighter to charge the battery.
And the cell phone battery was so archaic that it could only power the
phone for about 30 minutes, at the most.
During the 1990’s, advances in digital and battery technology
gave birth to a much smaller cell phone. This second generation of cell
phone (2G) would prove to be the catalyst for the cellular boom. These
improved phones allowed for a great expansion in the possible accessories.
The smaller size of the 2G phones allowed for manufacturers to create
a number of different types of cell phone cases. Cell phone holsters
that attached at the belt were among the most popular accessories of
the day. Additional ways to personalize your cell phone, including cell
phone covers and cell phone faceplates, became en vogue.
This generation of cell phones also introduced us to the hands-free
headset. A cell phone headset of the day had to be physically connected
to the phone, which would be remedied by the next generation of cell
technology (3G). Today’s third generation phones have incorporated
Bluetooth technology, previously only available on computers. This technology
not only allows wireless headsets and earpieces, but also allows cell
phones to act more like a computer than a traditional phone.
Other accessories have also improved over time. A cell phone antenna
and a cell phone signal booster can be purchased for most phones, allowing
a dramatic increase in the signal strength and range of a mobile phone.
They can also increase the internet speed of many of today’s 3G
devices.
Many cell phone manufacturers make accessories specifically for their
phones. Samsung cell phone accessories, while often adaptable to other
phones, are designed to work with Samsung phones. The same can be said
for LG cell phone accessories.
The number of cell phones available has created talk of a push towards
some industry standards, at least for cell phone chargers. Several companies
are discussing the idea of producing a universal charging system that
will be used by all manufacturers. The hope is that the new chargers
will be more efficient, and produce less waste.
As technology continues to advance, there will be more and more accessories
for the average cell phone.
